Established in 1921. Found on the outskirts of Worcester in the Western Cape, 155 hectares of semi-desert vegetation, 11 of which is cultivated. The Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden is the only succulent garden in the Southern hemisphere.

The Free State National Botanical Gardens was established in 1967 and is also known as the City of Roses.

Johannesburg Botanical Garden is one of the youngest gardens in the country at only 30 years of age. Covers 81 hectares. Over 30 000 tress, over 10 000 roses in the Rose Garden. Sits on the Western shores of the Emmerentia Dam.
